About the roleYou will own I&C; engineering deliverables from design basis through IFC, working in multi-discipline teams with Process, Electrical, Mechanical, Piping and Civil. The role covers instrument and control system design, vendor and procurement support, and interface with clients, PMCs and site teams.

At the senior end of the range (5–10 years), you will act as I&C; Discipline Lead on a project: estimating man-hours, allocating work to engineers and designers, checking deliverables, and representing the discipline in client reviews.

Key responsibilitiesEngineering deliverables (prepare, check and approve)

- I&C; Design Basis, Design Philosophy and Control Philosophy
- Instrument Index, Device Tag List and I/O List (hardwired, soft-link and fieldbus)
- Instrument and control valve datasheets with process and sizing calculations
- Instrument & control system specifications, Enquiry / Order specifications and Scope of Work (SOW)
- Control System Architecture for DCS, PLC, SIS / ESD, F&G;, SCADA and package control systems
- Cause & Effect diagrams, interlock and logic narratives, alarm and trip schedules
- Loop diagrams, wiring and elementary diagrams, cable termination lists
- Instrument location plans, cable tray / wireway layouts and routing in 3D models
- Junction box and panel layouts with BOM, marshalling and cabinet arrangements
- Hook-up diagrams (process, pneumatic, electrical) with MTO / BOM




- Cable schedules, cable sizing and bulk MTO (cables, trays, fittings, tubing)
- Heat tracing design and calculations for instruments and impulse lines
- Hazardous area instrument selection and intrinsic safety loop calculations

Design calculations and reviews

- Control valve, flow element, restriction orifice, thermowell (wake frequency) and PSV-related sizing inputs
- P&ID; review and markups, HAZOP / SIL / LOPA participation and close-out of I&C; actions
- 3D model review (Navisworks / SP3D / E3D) for instrument access, clashes and routing

Inter-discipline checks with Process, Electrical, Piping, Mechanical and Civil

Qualifications and experienceMust have

- B.E. / B.Tech in Instrumentation & Control, Instrumentation, Electronics & Instrumentation or equivalent
- 5–10 years of I&C; detail engineering experience, at least 4 years with an EPC contractor or engineering consultancy
- Hands-on experience on at least two of: refinery, gas processing / pipelines, petrochemical, power, green hydrogen, chemical, mining / mineral processing, water treatment
- Complete ownership of I&C; deliverables on at least one FEED or detailed engineering project, from design basis to IFC
- Experience with vendor offer evaluation, TBE and vendor document review

Exposure to international clients and codes (US, Canada, Europe or Middle East)
