Role Description The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, including managing general ledgers, preparing and reviewing journal entries, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This full-time, on-site role based in Delhi, India will support month-end and year-end closing activities, coordinate with external auditors, and maintain compliance with local tax and regulatory requirements.

Accountant will supervise accounts payable and receivable processes, monitor cash flow, and assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.



The role will also involve implementing and improving internal controls, collaborating with cross-functional teams such as operations and sourcing, and providing clear financial insights to leadership.

Qualifications

- Strong core accounting skills, including general ledger management, journal entry preparation, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Experience with taxation and compliance, such as GST, TDS, corporate tax, and other relevant Indian statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, along with solid Excel skills for financial modeling, analysis, and reporting.
- Background in budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and variance analysis, ideally within retail, fashion, or consumer goods sectors.
- Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to identify discrepancies, optimize processes, and maintain robust internal controls.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams in a growing organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional qualifications such as CA, CMA, or equivalent are highly beneficial.
- Several years of progressive accounting experience, including prior responsibility at a senior or lead level; experience in a fast-moving startup environment is a plus.
