StrategyStack Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior SAP FICO Consultant to support ongoing SAP Finance projects, enhancements, and production operations for a global fashion and retail client.

The role requires strong hands-on SAP FICO expertise and the ability to contribute across the delivery lifecycle, from requirements analysis and functional design through configuration, testing, deployment, and stabilization. The consultant will also provide production support, resolve incidents, and help maintain reliable Finance operations, including support during financial close periods.

The consultant will work closely with Finance stakeholders, project teams, the Application Managed Services (AMS) partner, and other Finance technology teams. Hands-on SAP FICO functional expertise, SAP Group Reporting, and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) experience are mandatory. Working knowledge of SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) is also important for understanding cross-application dependencies and coordinating effective solutions.

Responsibilities

SAP Finance Projects & Enhancements

- Contribute to ongoing SAP Finance projects and workstreams, delivering activities within agreed scope, milestones, and quality standards.
- Engage Finance stakeholders to clarify business requirements, assess current processes, and translate needs into functional designs and specifications.
- Perform SAP FICO configuration and support approved enhancements and change requests, including impact assessments across integrated processes.
- Prepare test scenarios and execute functional, integration, and regression testing; support user acceptance testing and resolve defects with business and technical teams.




- Coordinate with developers, integration teams, and AMS partners to manage dependencies, resolve issues, and support delivery milestones.
- Support release readiness, cutover, deployment validation, and post-deployment stabilization; maintain documentation and transfer knowledge to support teams.

Production Support & Finance Operations

- Provide functional production support across General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting, and Controlling (CO).
- Analyze, prioritize, and resolve incidents within agreed service levels; investigate root causes and coordinate corrective actions to reduce recurrence.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close by resolving posting, reconciliation, and reporting issues affecting Finance operations.
- Coordinate support and change priorities with Finance and AMS teams, communicating business impact, progress, dependencies, and escalations.
- Support master data and configuration changes, financial reporting, and audit requests in line with established change controls and approvals.
- Coordinate issues and changes involving SAP FICO, Ariba, Concur, SAC, and BPC with the relevant application teams; maintain SOPs and functional knowledge repositories.

Qualifications

Experience & SAP Functional Expertise

- 8–12+ years of SAP experience, with solid hands-on SAP FICO functional expertise. Experience in SAP Group Reporting and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) is mandatory.




- Experience supporting SAP Finance projects and enhancements as well as production support in an established SAP landscape.
- Strong knowledge of GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, and CO, including Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, and Internal Orders.
- Hands-on experience in requirements analysis, functional design, configuration, functional specifications, testing, defect resolution, and deployment support.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience supporting financial close, reporting, reconciliation, and accounting processes.

Cross-Application & Stakeholder Skills

- Mandatory: Hands-on experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) for Finance reporting, analytics, and planning.
- Working knowledge of SAP BPC for budgeting, forecasting, planning, and consolidation.
- Mandatory: Hands-on experience with SAP Group Reporting, including financial consolidation, intercompany eliminations, and integration with SAP Finance.
- Understanding of SAP FICO integration and data dependencies with Ariba, Concur, SAC, and BPC.
- Ability to work effectively with Finance stakeholders, technical teams, project teams, AMS partners, and global application teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to balance project deliverables and production priorities.

Preferred Experience

- Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance and/or SAP ECC FICO in large, global environments.
- Experience in retail, fashion, apparel, or consumer products.
- Experience working with large system integrators, global AMS providers, and distributed Finance teams.
- Exposure to SOX-controlled environments, financial audits, and controlled change and release processes.
