“Development and Evaluation of a Peer-Led Tobacco Use Prevention Model Incorporating Stress Management and Refusal Skills among School Students in Ghaziabad: An Implementation Study”

Position: Project Research Scientist - I (Medical)

Vacancy: 1

Position Tenure: 36 Months (3 Years). The appointment will be initially for 12 months in Year 1,

extendable annually up to 3 years co-terminus with the project based on annual performance review and ICMR guidelines.

Consolidated Emoluments: ₹87,100/- per month (₹67,000/- base pay + 30% HRA as sanctioned by

ICMR). Annual 5% increment applicable after completion of 2 years as per ICMR norms.

Upper Age Limit: 35 Years (Age relaxation applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates and experienced candidates as per ICMR/GoI rules).

Essential Qualifications: MBBS / BDS / MVSc / M.Sc. with Ph.D. in Public Health, Community

Medicine, or Life Sciences from a recognized university.

Desirable Qualifications: Master of Public Health (MPH) or MDS in Public Health Dentistry. Prior research experience in digital health platforms, adolescent health, behavioral interventions, tobacco control, or implementation science.

Key Job Responsibilities:

- Responsible for overall scientific coordination across all 3 years of the project.
- Key duties include cultural adaptation of the peer-led tobacco prevention model, development

of training modules,



supervision of school baseline & follow-up surveys, digital communication platform coordination, data management & statistical analysis, scientific manuscript writing, policy brief preparation and drafting the final implementation toolkit. General Terms & Conditions (ICMR Guidelines)

- Nature of Engagement: All posts are on a contractual basis, co-terminus with the project.
- Tenure & Performance Review: The Project Research Scientist - I post is for the 3-year project duration, renewed annually based on satisfactory performance.
- No Right to Regularization: Selected candidates shall have no claim for regular appointment or absorption at Santosh Dental College & Hospital, Santosh Deemed to be University, or ICMR.
- Age Relaxation: Age relaxation up to 5 years is permissible for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates and candidates with prior experience working in Government Research Organizations as per ICMR rules.
- Leave Entitlement: Contractual staff will be entitled to 1.5 days of paid leave per completed month of engagement as per ICMR project guidelines.
- Selection Process: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written screening test and/or personal interview (in-person or online). No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
