– Project Engineer

Position: Project Engineer

Experience: 0 – 1 year

Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Reporting to: Manager

Location: CBD Belapur, Navi Mumbai (site and workshop visits as required)

Job Type: Full-time

Job Summary

We are looking for a Project Engineer who can understand mechanical drawings of our skids and equipment, handle procurement of the required items, and follow up with vendors and fabrication workshops until the job is completed.

Roles and Responsibilities

Drawings

- Read and understand mechanical drawings such as GA drawings, P&IDs;, piping layouts, isometrics and fabrication drawings.
- Use the drawings to identify items, sizes and quantities required for the job.
- Prepare BOM, line list, valve list and instrument list from the drawings.
- Check drawings and datasheets received from vendors and workshops.
- Maintain drawing records and revisions.

Procurement

- Send enquiries (RFQs) for valves, hoses, couplings, pumps, flow meters, instruments, pipes, fittings and fabrication work.




- Prepare comparison of quotations received from vendors.
- Prepare purchase orders and follow up for delivery.
- Check incoming material against PO and specifications, including test certificates.
- Maintain vendor list and contact details.

Project Work

- Track project schedule and cost for each job.
- Visit fabrication workshops to check progress and quality of work.
- Coordinate inspections, hydro test, NDT and FAT.
- Support installation and commissioning at port and terminal sites.
- Collect and file test reports, certificates and handover documents.
- Follow safety (HSE) rules at workshops and sites.

Skills Required

- Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D. Knowledge of 3D will be an added advantage.
- Able to read P&IDs;, GA drawings and piping isometrics.
- Basic knowledge of piping items, flanges, pipe schedules and material grades (SS304 / SS316L).
- Valuable knowledge of MS Excel for BOMs, cost sheets and trackers.
- Good communication in English, both spoken and written.
