We’re Hiring: Product Designer (Physical Products: Wood, Metal & Mixed Materials)
Square N Circle | Nagina, Uttar Pradesh | Full-time (salaried) or Freelance (per project)
Square N Circle makes handcrafted products for international buyers and marketplaces in the US, UK and Canada. Our range includes wooden urns, boxes, chess sets, kitchenware and metal products. We’re looking for a top-tier product designer to create new products that our artisans can make and our customers will buy.
This is NOT a UI/UX or graphic design role. We need someone who designs real, physical objects that get made.
What you’ll do
Design new products and collections in wood, metal (brass, copper, iron), and combinations like wood with metal, resin or stone
Turn ideas and market trends into designs we can produce, with dimensions, joinery, finishes and tolerances
Create 3D models, renders and technical drawings that our workshop can work from directly
Work with our karigars (artisans) during sampling and fix designs that don’t work on the floor
Design for real constraints: material cost, production time, packaging size and shipping damage
Refresh existing best-sellers with new variations, finishes and engraving designs
What we’re looking for A portfolio of physical products that were actually manufactured, not just concepts. This is the most important requirement.
Strong knowledge of woodworking and/or metalworking: joinery, turning,
lathe work, laser engraving, CNC, casting, polishing and finishes
Skill in 3D and CAD tools (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Rhino, SketchUp, KeyShot, Blender or similar)
Production drawings with accurate measurements
Good taste for Western export markets: home décor, memorial, kitchen and gifting
Background in Product Design or Furniture Design (NID, NIFT, IICD, Pearl, MIT ID, etc.) is a plus, but your portfolio matters more than your degree
Experience with handicraft exporters or craft clusters is a big plus
How we can work together
Full-time: salaried role with regular workshop presence in Nagina
Freelance / per project: paid per design or per collection, remote, with sampling visits when needed
Tell us which option you prefer when you apply. We’re open to both for the right person.
Compensation: competitive and based on your skill and portfolio. We pay well for the best.
