About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic, result-oriented, and commercially driven sales professional to grow our Ocean Freight Import business. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, acquiring strategic accounts, developing customer relationships, and generating profitable freight volumes across key import commodity segments.

The ideal candidate will have a strong network of importers, traders, and manufacturers, along with a proven track record in ocean freight sales and the ability to convert market opportunities into sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

- Drive new business development and customer acquisition for ocean freight import services, covering FCL and LCL shipments.
- Develop business across key commodity segments, including:




- Plastic Resins
- Paper Waste
- Dry Fruits & Nuts (DFN)
- Chemicals
- Other strategic import commodities
- Identify and approach importers, manufacturers, traders, and key decision-makers to generate qualified business leads.
- Leverage existing industry relationships and develop new customer networks to expand the company's import freight portfolio.
- Understand customer shipping requirements and offer competitive, customized freight solutions in coordination with pricing and operations teams.
- Negotiate commercial terms, secure new business, and maintain healthy gross profit margins.
- Achieve assigned sales targets for revenue, shipment volumes, gross profit, and new customer acquisition.
- Track market developments, competitor activities, freight rate movements, and emerging import trade opportunities.
- Coordinate with operations, customer service, and documentation teams to ensure smooth shipment execution and a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Maintain an updated sales pipeline, customer database, and periodic business development reports.

Desired Candidate Profile

- Proven experience in ocean freight import sales, freight forwarding sales, or logistics business development.
- Strong understanding of ocean freight import operations, FCL/LCL services, freight pricing, and the import logistics process.
- An established network of importers, traders, or manufacturers in one or more of the targeted commodity segments.
- Demonstrated ability to acquire new customers, convert leads into business, and develop profitable, long-term accounts.
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and customer relationship management capabilities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and target-driven, with the ability to work independently and contribute to business growth.
- Good knowledge of Mumbai and surrounding import trade markets.
