Do you enjoy building fast, polished desktop software for technical and scientific work? Kinben Innovation is a rapid-growing company, and we're looking for a .NET WPF Developer to join our development team. You'll design, build and maintain high-performance Windows desktop applications on modern .NET, and you'll be involved in every stage of development, from architecture to release.
Key Responsibilities
- Application development: Design, develop, maintain and troubleshoot WPF desktop applications in C# on modern .NET (.NET 8 or later). Write clean, efficient, well-tested code.
- Architecture: Contribute to the architecture of new solutions using MVVM, dependency injection and modular design so the code stays maintainable and testable.
- UI/UX: Work with stakeholders to build intuitive, responsive and visually consistent interfaces in XAML.
- Custom controls and templates: Create custom controls, styles, control and data templates, and resource dictionaries for reusable UI.
- Performance:
Find and fix bottlenecks in CPU, memory, rendering and threading. Use high-performance C# techniques so applications stay responsive with large data sets.
- Data and integration: Build the data layer against PostgreSQL using EF Core or ADO.NET/Npgsql. Integrate third-party libraries, services and APIs.
- Testing and debugging: Write unit tests, debug, profile and troubleshoot issues to meet quality and performance standards.
- Migration: Help modernize legacy .NET Framework code to .NET 8+ where needed.
- Collaboration: Work with team leads to resolve issues. Take part in Agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, sprint planning and code reviews.
- Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, implementation notes and user guides.
- Continuous improvement: Help build a culture of continuous improvement in code quality, tooling and process.
Required Skills and Experience
- Education: Bachelor's or master's degree (BE/B.Tech, M.Sc., MCA) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field, with a strong programming focus.
- Experience: 3–5 years of professional .NET development, mainly building WPF desktop applications.
- Modern .NET: Hands-on experience with WPF on .NET Core / .NET 6–8+, including the SDK-style project system,
the Generic Host and Microsoft.Extensions dependency injection.
- C#: Strong command of C#, OOP, SOLID and design patterns. Fluent with LINQ, async/await and generics.
- WPF expertise: Data binding, value converters, dependency properties, commands, styles, triggers, control templates and animations.
- MVVM: In-depth, real-world MVVM experience, for example with CommunityToolkit.Mvvm, Prism or similar.
- Performance and concurrency: Multithreading, the TPL and the Dispatcher, plus an understanding of the GC and memory management. Familiar with high-performance techniques such as Span, pooling, allocation reduction and UI virtualization.
- Databases: PostgreSQL experience, with integration through Entity Framework Core, Dapper or ADO.NET.
- Tools: Visual Studio, the debugger and profilers, and Git.
- AI-assisted development: Practical experience using AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Claude or Cursor responsibly in daily work.
- Ways of working: Familiar with Agile methods and software development best practices.
Nice to Have
- Unit testing with xUnit, NUnit or MSTest, and mocking frameworks
- Profiling with dotTrace, dotMemory, PerfView or BenchmarkDotNet
- Third-party WPF control suites such as Telerik, DevExpress or Syncfusion
- Data visualization or scientific/technical applications
- CI/CD pipelines and MSIX or other installer packaging
- Experience migrating from .NET Framework to modern .NET
Who You Are
- A strong problem-solver with an eye for detail
- Organized, autonomous and reliable, and able to prioritize and meet deadlines
