Role Description The Mechanical Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Chandigarh, India.

The Mechanical

Engineer will design, analyze, and optimize mechanical components and systems used in mining and metal processing operations. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and reviewing machine designs, creating and updating CAD models and drawings, and coordinating with production, maintenance, and quality teams to ensure reliable equipment performance. The role involves supporting research and development activities, troubleshooting mechanical issues, preparing technical documentation, and contributing to cost, safety, and efficiency improvements.

The Mechanical

Engineer will also assist with project planning, vendor coordination, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

Qualifications





- Robust foundation in Mechanical Engineering, with the ability to apply core principles to industrial equipment and processes.
- Proficiency in Machine Design, including calculation, selection of materials, and evaluation of mechanical components for durability and performance.
- Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 3D modeling, detailing, and drafting of mechanical parts and assemblies.
- Capability to contribute to Research and Development (R&D;) initiatives, including testing, data analysis, and implementation of design improvements.
- Project Management skills to plan tasks, track progress, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and meet deadlines and technical requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, material properties, and maintenance practices in heavy industry or metals sector is an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and standards; familiarity with safety and quality compliance in industrial environments.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate on-site with engineering, operations, and vendor stakeholders.
- Willingness to work in an on-site industrial setting in Chandigarh and to engage in occasional field inspections or equipment audits.
