Allegion India is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to support projects for Mechanical team.

About the Role

Responsible for the design, development, and technical analysis of moderate scope and complexity, either independently or with team. Contribute to multiple projects, Generate, evaluate, analyze, and develop design concepts for systems, components, and assemblies to achieve new product requirements and current product improvements. Must have a full understanding of their area of specialization; should have a significant focus on further growing and developing their technical skills and gaining experience.

Expected to proactively collaborate with others on routine work and are accountable to incorporate into design to meet the quality and schedules. Actively seek out opportunities to increase productivity by suggesting and driving improvements within the platform, technical practices and delivery procedures.

Responsibilities

- Executing mechanical or electromechanical subsystem design under little or no supervision.
- Responsibilities could include technical leadership of cross functional teams, leading design reviews and supplier reviews, developing technical documentation, product change management, and/or process development/enhancement.
- Provide day-to-day directions and coordination with other employees. Ability to quickly build proof-of-concept solutions that are forward-looking to how they could be implemented on a larger scale.
- Utilize engineering tools (FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, GD&T;, Tolerance Stack Analysis & DFM/DFA) to ensure that requirement risks are evaluated and mitigated early in the design process.
- Ensure designs meet system requirements through proper verification methods.
- Learns established engineering processes (ECN, BOM, RFQ, etc.), standards, methods, and procedures needed to accomplish assigned tasks within discipline.

Qualifications

- Self-motivated mindset with strong engineering project management skills.




- Ability to clearly present technical information to other groups within Engineering.
- Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment.
- Ability to solve problems and work with others to resolve problems.
- Experience in supplier coordination and communication of design inputs
- Experience with manufacturing processes such as die casting, investment casting, powdered metal, stampings, injection molded plastics, machining, LPM, and rapid prototyping is a plus.
- Able to sort out the key issues versus the peripheral issues. Has a basic understanding of the assumptions being made in an approximation. Able to generate several alternative solutions and evaluate their feasibility.
- Develop required design documentation, 3D models/drawings, and instructions for manufacturing and product test requirements. Experience with Creo is a plus.
