Role purposeThe Manager – Supply Chain owns end-to-end procurement for Dexler's solar projects, from purchase requisition to material at site. The role makes sure the right materials and contractor services reach each site on time, at competitive cost, and to specification, so that construction never waits on supply.

The scope covers the full balance of materials for ground-mount and rooftop solar plants: PV modules, inverters, mounting structures, cables, transformers, switchgear, SCADA, and civil and electrical consumables, plus erection and commissioning contracts.

Key responsibilitiesStrategic sourcing and vendor development• Build and run sourcing strategies for each material category, balancing cost, quality, lead time, and supply risk.

- Identify, evaluate, and onboard recent vendors; maintain an approved vendor list with performance ratings.
- Develop alternate sources for critical items (modules, inverters, transformers) to reduce single-supplier dependence.

Commercial negotiation and contracts• Run the RFQ process: issue enquiries, prepare techno-commercial comparisons, and recommend awards.
- Negotiate price, payment terms, warranties, delivery schedules, and liquidated damages.
- Draft and manage purchase orders and contracts for materials and erection and commissioning services.

Procurement execution (PR to site)• Convert approved purchase requisitions into POs within agreed timelines.
- Coordinate technical approvals, drawing and datasheet approvals, and manufacturing clearances with engineering.
- Track manufacturing progress, conduct or arrange inspections and FAT, and issue dispatch clearances.
- Support SAT and material acceptance at site, goods receipts, and vendor payment processing.





Logistics and site delivery• Plan dispatches and transport to match each project's construction schedule.
- Coordinate with Construction Managers on site readiness, storage, and unloading.
- Resolve shortages, damages, and transit claims quickly.

Cost, risk, and compliance• Deliver measurable savings against budget and track them monthly.
- Monitor market trends (module and commodity prices, import duties, ALMM and BIS requirements) and advise on timing of purchases.
- Ensure compliance with GST, e-way bill, and other statutory requirements, and with company procurement policy.
- Identify supply chain risks early and put mitigation plans in place.

Systems, reporting, and team• Run procurement in SAP MM or the company ERP and keep data accurate.
- Set up procurement processes, templates, and approval workflows as Dexler scales.
- Report procurement status, savings, and risks to management weekly.
- Lead and develop a small team of buyers and expediters as the portfolio grows.
- Submit quarterly reports on the material cost analysis and market updates.

Qualifications and experienceRequired

- Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, industrial and production, or related).
- 10–16 years of procurement experience in EPC or other project-based industries.
- Proven end-to-end procurement of a complete project BOM, from purchase requisition to material at site.
- Hands-on experience with technical approvals, manufacturing and dispatch clearances, FAT and SAT, and vendor payments.
- Working knowledge of SAP MM or a comparable ERP.
- Track record of documented cost savings and new vendor development.

Preferred

- Solar EPC procurement experience, ideally for utility-scale ground-mount (cumulative 50 MW or more) and rooftop projects.
- Experience in other project-based industries such as hydro, steel, or infrastructure.
- Experience setting up a procurement function or system from scratch.
- Experience managing erection and commissioning contractors.
- Working knowledge of Kannada, Hindi, and English.
