Summary

UST is seeking a detail-oriented Data QA Engineer with strong expertise in ETL Testing, Data Validation, SQL, and Data Warehouse Testing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, accuracy, completeness, and integrity of data across ETL pipelines, databases, and reporting platforms. This role requires close collaboration with Data Engineers, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to validate data movement, identify defects, and support enterprise data quality initiatives.

The Opportunity

As a Data QA Engineer, you will play a critical role in validating data integrations, ETL processes, reporting systems, and data warehouse solutions. You will ensure that data transformation and loading processes meet business requirements while maintaining the highest standards of data quality and accuracy.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

- Validate data loaded into databases, data warehouses, reporting platforms, and analytics solutions.
- Design, develop, and execute test cases for ETL processes and data pipelines.
- Perform source-to-target data validation and reconciliation activities.
- Verify data transformations, mappings, and business rules across multiple systems.
- Develop and execute SQL queries for data validation, analysis, and defect investigation.
- Identify, document, track, and validate defects through resolution.
- Conduct data quality assessments to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency, and integrity.
- Validate reports, dashboards, and analytics outputs against business requirements.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, Developers, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to resolve data quality issues.




- Participate in requirements reviews and provide input on testing strategies and coverage.
- Support system integration, user acceptance, regression, and data validation testing activities.
- Maintain test documentation, test cases, execution reports, and defect logs.
- Ensure adherence to QA processes, standards, and best practices.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

What You Need

Requirements

- Strong experience in Data QA, ETL Testing, and Data Warehouse Testing.
- Hands-on experience in source-to-target data validation and reconciliation.
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to write complex queries for data validation and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of database concepts, data modeling, and data validation techniques.
- Experience testing ETL pipelines, data migrations, and reporting systems.
- Experience using defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Understanding of data quality management principles and analytics validation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality-focused mindset.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Qualification

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
