About Sadhna Vidyasthali

Sadhna Vidyasthali works at the critical intersection of natural living, natural farming and natural learning. The farm school is not a detached academic establishment , it is the natural learning wing of Sadhna Vidyasthali (formerly The Madman’s Farm www.themadmansfarm.org ), an intentional ecological sanctuary, organic farm, gaushala, and “Pause Space” in rural Madhya Pradesh. Situated in a farm next to Vindhyas and not too far from Narmada in rural Madhya Pradesh, we work with children aged 5–12, creating a learning environment rooted in nature, meaningful experiences, relationships, exploration and everyday life.

About the Role

As Lead Educator, you will help anchor and evolve the academic program at Sadhna Vidyasthali. We are looking for someone who can hold two commitments together: academic rigour and a joyful learning environment. You should be comfortable taking responsibility, questioning inherited assumptions, experimenting thoughtfully and learning with the wider school community. A nature lover, a happy-go-lucky person with a spirit to live every single day to it’s fullest , would find this role a great fit.

What Brings the Role Together

01 | Academic & Program Leadership

- Plan and guide the academic program for children aged 5–12, with particular attention to foundational literacy and numeracy
- Track children's progress through observation, conversation, meaningful tasks and periodic relevant assessments.
- Ensure that children build strong foundations while retaining time and space for play, exploration, creativity and practical work.

02 | Curriculum & Pedagogy

- Co-create an evolving curriculum rooted in the school's philosophy (nature, joy and relevance)
- Integrate nature, farming, craft, music, stories, movement and community knowledge into learning experiences.
- Question practices that do not serve children and propose thoughtful alternatives grounded in observation and evidence.





03 | Learning Culture & Team Development

- Support collaborative planning, observation, feedback and reflective conversations.
- Help create a safe, inclusive and joyful environment where children and adults learn with and from one another.

04 | Families & Community

- Build meaningful relationships with parents and keep communication open, respectful and constructive.
- Recognize the farm and the surrounding community as important spaces and partners in children's learning.
- Participate in the everyday life of the school and contribute to a close-knit, team-oriented community.

Expected learning journey so far

Worked with children for 3–5 years (preferably in progressive/alternative schools).

Strong grounding in Early Child Education & development, and experiential pedagogy.

Deep commitment to well being of children, enjoys working in rural contexts

Exposure or interest in living on farm, working with land, sustainablity and nature.

Lodging and Boarding

This role requires you to live on the farm or at least within 5KM radius , which means you’ll either have to live on farm campus or find an accommodation in nearby villages.

Stay on farm campus is basic and simple farm grown vegetarian meal is served twice a day. We have a small community kitchen where one can cook if interested.

The CTC is negotiable and mutually decided based on preferences for accommodation, food, personal needs and other engagements. However to give a simple idea, we hope to close it between 3.6-5.5 LPA
