- Achieve entry coil feeding as per rolling sequence given by Shift In-Charge with minimum delay.
- Check incoming HR coil condition: rust, damage, telescoping. Report deviations before loading.
- Operate Pay-off Reel, De-coiler, Crop Shear, Scale Breaker as per SOP and L2 settings.
- Monitor process parameters at entry: strip centering, crop length, descaling efficiency.
- Ensure proper strip threading and avoid cobble at entry during start/stop.
- Follow all safety norms: LOTO during coil loading, work permits, PPE compliance.
- Record entry log: coil no., weight, start-end time, defects, delays in log sheet/MES.
- Coordinate with crane operator for secure coil loading and maintaining coil yard FIFO.
- Maintain housekeeping & 5S at entry pulpit and surrounding area.
Inform Shift In-Charge immediately for any HR coil not meeting processable criteria. Critical Tasks Act as Shift In-Charge in his absence for routine line operations and escalation of issues
- Responsible for safe and smooth feeding of coils without cobble/breakage.
- Ensure entry equipment readiness to avoid mill idle time.
- Stop line immediately if unsafe condition or major defect observed at entry.
- Assist in root cause analysis for entry related defects/delays.
- Ensure correct data entry in log sheet & MES/SAP as per actual production before shift end.
- Support Shift In-Charge in daily tool-box talk, job briefing, and manpower deployment.
Decision making authority (Decisions expected)
- Takes quick operational decisions within SOP limits to maintain line continuity and safety
- Escalates issues beyond authority to Shift In-Charge promptly – does not decide independently on production plan, quality hold, or major breakdown
- Must escalate: coil rejection, major HR defects, equipment breakdown to Shift In-Charge.
Implements changes given by Shift In-Charge/QC in case of quality deviation – does not plan change independently Educational Background And Work Experience
- Diploma – Mechanical / Production and specializations in production
