Happy Home Sanctuary, run by People for Animals Uttarakhand, is one of India's leading animal sanctuaries and a permanent home for rescued animals. The sanctuary currently provides lifelong care to equines, cats, goats, sheep, poultry birds, and other rescued animals that have survived situations of abuse, neglect, abandonment, disasters, and exploitation.

As our work continues to grow, we are looking for an exceptional fundraiser who can help secure the resources needed to sustain and expand this life-saving work.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, entrepreneurial, and passionate Fundraising Manager to lead fundraising for our direct animal care programmes.

The ideal candidate will develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy, cultivate relationships with foundations, CSR partners, philanthropists, family offices, and individual donors, and build sustainable funding streams to support the sanctuary's rescue, rehabilitation, veterinary care, infrastructure, and long-term animal care programmes.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building meaningful donor relationships, telling compelling impact stories, and helping transform compassion into lasting support for animals.

Key Responsibilities

● Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy for Happy Home Sanctuary.

● Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with foundations, CSR partners, family offices, HNIs, philanthropists, and international donors.





● Research and pursue new grant opportunities aligned with the sanctuary's mission.

● Prepare compelling grant proposals, concept notes, donor reports, and presentations.

● Develop and manage individual giving, major donor, monthly giving, and legacy giving programmes.

● Design and execute fundraising campaigns, donor engagement initiatives, and crowdfunding campaigns.

● Organise donor visits to the sanctuary and create meaningful stewardship opportunities.

● Work closely with the communications team to develop impact stories, newsletters, fundraising collateral, and digital campaigns.

● Maintain a donor database, fundraising pipeline, and reporting calendar.

● Track fundraising targets and provide regular progress reports to the leadership team.

● Represent the organisation at donor meetings, conferences, and networking events.

Requirements

● 4–7 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, CSR partnerships, business development, or institutional fundraising.

● Proven track record of securing grants and building long-term donor relationships.

● Excellent proposal writing, communication, and presentation skills.

● Solid relationship-building and stakeholder management abilities.

● Self-motivated, organised, and comfortable working independently.

● Passion for animal welfare and alignment with the mission of People for Animals Uttarakhand.
