Role Description The Freelance Medical Writer role is a remote contract position focused on developing clear, accurate, and engaging medical and scientific content related to pathology and laboratory medicine. Day-to-day responsibilities include researching current literature, drafting and revising articles, reviews, interviews, and educational materials, and aligning content with editorial guidelines and publication standards. The writer collaborates with editors and subject matter experts to ensure scientific rigor, consistency,



and adherence to ethical and regulatory principles.

Additional tasks may include adapting content for different formats and audiences, meeting agreed timelines, and responding to editorial feedback in a qualified and timely manner.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Scientific Writing and Medical Writing skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly and accurately.
- Candidates should possess Medical Communications and Writing skills to tailor content for diverse professional audiences and formats.
- Candidates should possess solid Research skills to identify, interpret, and synthesize scientific literature and guidelines.
- Advanced knowledge or experience in pathology, laboratory medicine, or related biomedical fields is highly beneficial.
- Experience writing for journals, professional platforms, or continuing medical education is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent grammar, and the ability to follow style guides and editorial processes are required.
- Relevant degree in medicine, biomedical sciences, or a related discipline is preferred, or equivalent professional experience in medical writing.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage deadlines, and collaborate effectively with an international editorial team.
