Role Description The Entrepreneurship Area Chair is a full-time, in office academic leadership role based in Bengaluru. This position is responsible for leading the entrepreneurship area, including designing and updating curricula, overseeing course delivery, and ensuring alignment with industry and innovation trends.

The Area

Chair will guide and mentor faculty and students, supervise research and projects in entrepreneurship, and support incubation activities, start-up initiatives, and industry collaborations. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating teaching schedules, reviewing academic content, organizing workshops and seminars, fostering partnerships with entrepreneurs and ecosystem stakeholders, and contributing to accreditation and quality assurance processes. The role also involves active participation in university committees,



strategic planning for the entrepreneurship vertical, and promoting a vibrant entrepreneurial culture on campus.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated expertise in entrepreneurship, innovation management, or start-up development, with the ability to design and lead academic programs in these areas.
- Strong academic credentials, preferably a doctoral degree (PhD) or equivalent in Management, Entrepreneurship, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Experience in academic leadership or area coordination, including curriculum development, faculty mentoring, and program administration.
- Proven engagement with the entrepreneurial ecosystem, such as start-up mentoring, incubator or accelerator involvement, industry collaboration, or applied research in entrepreneurship.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, administrators, and external partners.
- Commitment to inclusive, learner-centred pedagogy and the ability to support students from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, including the ability to manage multiple academic and administrative responsibilities.
- Track record of scholarly publications, conference participation, or thought leadership in entrepreneurship or related fields is highly desirable.
- Comfort with educational technology, digital learning tools, and data-driven approaches to academic quality and student success.
