Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in Special Purpose Machines (SPM) to join our engineering team.

The candidate will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, developing, and supporting customized Special Purpose Machines and End-of-Line testing equipment.

The role requires strong mechanical design knowledge, proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, and hands-on experience in machine design, assembly, manufacturing processes, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct conceptual design and engineering analysis for Special Purpose Machines (SPM) and End-of-Line testing machines.




- Prepare and review technical specifications based on customer requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and develop suitable engineering solutions.
- Design mechanical components, assemblies, fixtures, and customized automation equipment.
- Develop detailed 2D drawings, 3D models, assembly drawings, and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Ensure all designs comply with engineering standards, manufacturing requirements, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with manufacturing and assembly teams to resolve design-related issues.
- Participate in in-house and onsite machine testing, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Provide technical support for mechanical design modifications, product improvements, and assembly-related challenges.

Key Deliverables

- Complete 2D and 3D mechanical designs for Special Purpose Machines.
- Detailed assembly, manufacturing, and fabrication drawings.
- Accurate Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Editable CAD files and drawings in standard formats.
- Technical documentation for machine assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Design improvements based on testing results and customer feedback.





Required Skills

- Solid proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD for 2D drafting and 3D modelling.
- Hands-on experience in Special Purpose Machine (SPM) design.
- Experience in conceptual machine design, component selection, and mechanical assemblies.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, machining, fabrication, and material selection.
- Ability to prepare detailed engineering drawings and BOMs.
- Understanding of mechanical design calculations and engineering principles.
- Knowledge of End-of-Line testing machines, fixtures, and customized automation systems.
- Strong analytical, technical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with design, manufacturing, assembly, and project teams.
- Familiarity with FEA or engineering simulation software will be an added advantage.
