Ravi Renewables Pvt. Ltd. is seeking an experienced, target-driven B2B Business Development Manager to expand its commercial and industrial (C&I;) solar business and develop new opportunities across Karnataka (Work From Home). The role will focus on identifying prospective business customers, understanding their energy requirements, positioning suitable solar solutions, managing the sales pipeline, and converting qualified opportunities into profitable orders.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal technical, design, commercial, legal, project execution and operations teams to support the customer journey from initial engagement through proposal, negotiation, contract closure and handover.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. B2B Lead Generation & Market Development

· Identify, map and develop new B2B opportunities among commercial and industrial customers, including manufacturing units, factories, warehouses, logistics parks, commercial buildings, hospitals, hotels, educational institutions, retail chains and other high-energy-consuming businesses.

· Build a structured database of target accounts, decision-makers, energy consumers, industrial clusters, business parks and channel partners across the assigned territories.

· Generate leads through direct outreach, referrals, industry associations, networking events, exhibitions, digital channels, consultants and strategic partnerships.

· Conduct market research to assess customer demand, competitor activity, regional solar adoption, electricity tariffs and potential business opportunities.

· Create and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified prospects, with clear next steps, expected deal value and closure timelines.

B. Solar Solution Sales & Customer Consultation

· Understand customer electricity consumption, tariff structure, sanctioned load, available rooftop or ground space, operating hours and sustainability objectives to identify suitable solar opportunities.

· Promote relevant solar solutions, including rooftop solar, ground-mounted solar, captive or group-captive/open-access models, and EPC or other commercial structures offered by the company.

· Coordinate preliminary feasibility discussions and site assessments with the technical team; do not commit to technical feasibility, savings or generation figures without internal validation.

· Explain the commercial value of solar adoption, including potential energy-cost savings, long-term price visibility, sustainability benefits and relevant project economics, using approved assumptions.

· Arrange customer meetings, presentations,

site visits and technical discussions with relevant company teams.

C. Sales Cycle & Deal Closure

· Manage the end-to-end sales cycle from prospecting, lead qualification and discovery to proposal submission, follow-ups, negotiation and order closure.

· Collect customer requirements and coordinate preparation of proposals, preliminary costing, payback or savings analysis, and commercial offers with the relevant internal teams.

· Present proposals to business owners, plant heads, finance leaders, procurement teams, facility heads and other decision-makers.

· Lead commercial discussions on pricing, payment milestones, contract scope, timelines and other agreed terms, within the company's approval matrix.

· Follow up consistently on proposals and pending decisions; identify barriers to closure and develop action plans to convert opportunities.

· Coordinate due diligence and documentation required for quotations, letters of intent, purchase orders, work orders, PPAs or other applicable agreements.

D. Account Management & Relationship Building

· Build strong, long-term relationships with customers, consultants, EPC partners, channel partners and other relevant stakeholders.

· Maintain regular contact with existing accounts to identify additional sites, capacity expansion, referrals and repeat business.

· Ensure customer expectations are documented accurately and communicated to internal stakeholders.

· Support customer issue resolution by coordinating with technical, execution, finance and operations teams, while keeping commitments realistic and approved.

E. Internal Coordination & Project Handover

· Work with engineering, design, procurement, project execution, finance and legal teams to validate scope, costing, timelines and commercial assumptions before commitments are made.

· Prepare a complete sales-to-project handover after order closure, including customer requirements, scope, approved commercials, key contacts, commitments, documents and open items.

· Track progress of key opportunities and support internal reviews to ensure timely decisions and a smooth customer experience.

· Stay informed about applicable policies,

regulatory developments and market changes affecting solar projects; seek advice from the relevant internal experts where required.

F. Reporting, CRM & Target Achievement

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of leads, customer interactions, meetings, proposals, deal stages, expected revenue and forecast closure dates in the company CRM or approved tracker.

· Submit weekly and monthly reports on lead generation, qualified pipeline, meetings, proposals, order bookings, conversion rates and forecast performance.

· Achieve assigned targets for new business, revenue/order booking, customer acquisition, pipeline development and territory growth.

· Review lost or delayed opportunities, record reasons and recommend improvements to sales strategy and conversion rates.

· Follow company policies relating to pricing approvals, customer communication, confidentiality, documentation and business conduct.

3. Candidate Requirements

· 7–10 years of experience in B2B sales, business development or key account management; experience in solar, renewable energy, power, electricals, industrial equipment, infrastructure or related sectors is preferred.

· Practical understanding of consultative selling, lead generation, enterprise sales, proposal management, commercial negotiation and deal closure.

· Knowledge of C&I; solar, rooftop or ground-mounted solar, EPC solutions, captive/group-captive and open-access models is an advantage.

· Ability to engage with senior decision-makers and manage multi-stakeholder sales cycles.

· Robust communication, presentation, negotiation, analytical and relationship-management skills.

· Ability to understand commercial proposals and basic project economics, including energy consumption, tariffs, savings assumptions and payback concepts.

· Working knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, email and CRM or sales pipeline tools.

· Self-driven, target-oriented and comfortable with field sales, customer visits and regional travel.

· Must be based in Karnataka and available to work from home, with travel within Karnataka for customer meetings, site visits and business development activities as required.

4. Preferred Customer & Industry Exposure

Candidates with established relationships in manufacturing, textiles, automotive and auto components, food processing, pharmaceuticals, cement, steel, chemicals, logistics, warehousing, commercial real estate, hospitality, healthcare or other energy-intensive sectors will be preferred.
