Role Description The Assistant or Deputy Manager Metallurgist will oversee metallurgical processes and quality control for aluminum castings at the on-site facility in Pune. This full-time role includes monitoring melting and casting parameters, analyzing metallurgical test results, and recommending corrective actions to ensure adherence to specifications and standards. The role involves collaborating with production, quality, and engineering teams to resolve metallurgical issues, improve yield, and enhance material performance.

The Metallurgist will participate in failure analysis, support new product development,



and assist in the implementation of process improvements and best practices.

Responsibilities also include documentation of metallurgical procedures, compliance with safety and environmental guidelines, and mentoring junior team members on metallurgical techniques and standards.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of physical and mechanical metallurgy, particularly aluminum alloys and casting processes.
- Experience with metallurgical testing and analysis (e.g., spectrometry, microstructure examination, hardness and mechanical testing).
- Background in foundry operations, process control, and troubleshooting casting defects.
- Familiarity with quality systems and standards relevant to automotive or industrial manufacturing (such as ISO/TS, IATF).
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or related engineering discipline.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Solid analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams on-site in Pune.
- Experience in automotive casting or similar heavy manufacturing environment is an advantage.
