Agentic Delivery Lead – Data & AI | VP1

EXL is looking for experienced Data & AI Delivery Leaders to lead complex, enterprise-scale transformation programs for global clients across Insurance and Banking & Capital Markets (BCM).

This is a senior leadership role for professionals who bring together strong delivery leadership, technology depth, client management and domain understanding. The role will own large AI & Data programs from solution design through production, lead cross-functional teams, and work closely with senior client stakeholders to deliver measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Own end-to-end delivery of complex AI & Data programs across multiple workstreams, from solution design and planning through implementation and production.
- Lead and scale cross-functional teams of 10–30 professionals, including Data Engineers, AI/ML Engineers, Architects and Analysts.
- Guide the design and deployment of production-grade Agentic AI solutions, including multi-agent systems, LLM orchestration, RAG/GraphRAG, tool integration, prompt engineering, evaluation, observability and guardrails.
- Drive data modernization and migration programs, including ETL/ELT, cloud platforms, schema mapping, cutover and go-live.
- Act as a key client interface, working closely with senior stakeholders to build trusted relationships, manage expectations and ensure strong delivery outcomes.
- Establish effective program governance, manage risks and dependencies, and maintain focus on quality, scalability and measurable business outcomes.
- Bring strong engineering discipline across areas such as CI/CD, testing and data observability.




- Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and support account growth through solid delivery and solution leadership.

Experience & Leadership ProfileWe are looking for senior professionals with significant experience leading complex Data, AI and technology transformation programs in a services / consulting environment.

For Insurance roles:

- 18+ years of experience in Data Engineering, AI/ML or Analytics
- At least 7+ years of experience in delivery leadership / program management
- Strong understanding of the Insurance domain, preferably across areas such as P&C;, Life & Annuities, Claims, Underwriting, Policy Administration, Distribution and Servicing

For Banking & Capital Markets roles:

- 18+ years of overall experience
- At least 10+ years of experience across delivery, technical leadership, client and stakeholder management
- Strong domain understanding across areas such as Banking, Finance, Cards & Payments, Capital Markets, Lending, Wealth and Transaction Banking

Technical ExpertiseCandidates should bring strong understanding and practical exposure across modern Data & AI technologies, including:

- Agentic AI architectures and multi-agent systems
- LLM orchestration
- RAG / GraphRAG
- Prompt engineering,

- Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable Data & AI solutions
- Strong program governance, risk management and delivery management skills
- Ability to engage with senior client stakeholders and build trusted relationships
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
