Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Account Manager – Government & PSU to join our Mumbai team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in public relations, excellent media relations skills, and a sound understanding of government departments, public sector undertakings (PSUs), and the public affairs landscape.

Fluency in Marathi is mandatory, along with the ability to draft and communicate effectively in Marathi and English. The candidate should be comfortable working with government stakeholders, understanding regional media dynamics, and managing strategic communication campaigns for government and PSU clients.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage PR and strategic communication mandates for government departments, PSUs, public sector institutions, and related organisations.
- Develop and execute communication strategies aligned with client objectives and public-sector communication requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, PSU representatives, journalists, editors, and key media stakeholders.
- Leverage a strong understanding of Maharashtra’s government ecosystem, regional media landscape, and relevant public-sector developments.
- Draft and review press releases, media notes, speeches, briefing documents, key messages, articles, and other communication materials in English and Marathi.
- Coordinate press conferences, media briefings, official announcements, stakeholder meetings,



and government-related events.
- Identify proactive media opportunities and develop story ideas to secure relevant coverage across print, electronic, and digital platforms.
- Handle day-to-day client servicing, account management, campaign planning, and coordination with internal teams.
- Monitor government policies, public-sector developments, regional news, and media coverage relevant to client mandates.
- Prepare media monitoring reports, campaign updates, and periodic performance reports for clients.
- Ensure timely execution of deliverables while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and sensitivity in government communications.

Desired Candidate Profile

- 4–6 years of experience in public relations, preferably with a PR agency handling government, PSU, corporate affairs, or public-sector clients.
- Excellent command of Marathi and English, both written and verbal, is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of Maharashtra’s government departments, PSUs, administrative ecosystem, and regional media landscape.
- Established relationships with journalists and media houses, particularly across Maharashtra.
- Experience in managing government communication mandates, media outreach, press conferences, and stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent drafting, presentation, communication, and client-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple accounts, work under tight deadlines, and handle sensitive communication requirements.
- Solid coordination, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
