Assistant Manager / Manager – Air Freight Operations

Location: Mumbai

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Air Freight Operations professional to manage end-to-end air import and export shipments, coordinate with airlines and overseas agents, and ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant cargo movement.

Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end air freight import and export operations, from booking to final delivery.
Coordinate with airlines, GSAs, overseas agents, transporters, customs brokers, and customers.
Handle shipment bookings, documentation, pre-alerts, and cargo tracking.
Coordinate customs clearance, delivery schedules, and shipment status updates.
Negotiate with airlines and service providers to ensure competitive rates and space availability.
Monitor shipment milestones and resolve operational issues to ensure timely delivery.
Maintain robust relationships with overseas partners and vendors.
Ensure compliance with company SOPs, customer requirements,



and applicable regulations.
Monitor operational costs, service quality, and profitability.
Coordinate with Sales, Pricing, and Customer Service teams to ensure smooth execution.

Eligibility Criteria
Graduate in any discipline; MBA preferred.
Minimum 8+ years of experience in air freight operations within the freight forwarding industry.
Strong knowledge of air import and export operations.
Experience in airline coordination, overseas agent handling, customs clearance, and shipment documentation.
Positive understanding of operational costs, customer service, and profitability.
Solid communication, coordination, problem-solving, and team management skills.
