Embedded Software Design Engineer - EV Powertrain

About the Role

iQuants Engineering is looking for an Embedded Software Design Engineer to work at our client location in Pune , supporting the development of advanced EV powertrain and motor control systems .

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and validate embedded software for EV motor controllers such as BLDC, PMSM, SRM and Axial Flux motors .
- Develop and integrate motor control algorithms with BMS, VCU and other vehicle systems.
- Work on motor control algorithms including FOC, PID and DTC .
- Conduct software testing, debugging, optimization and performance improvements.
- Support improvements in power, cost, weight and efficiency of motor control systems.
- Work with communication protocols such as CAN, SPI and UART .
- Perform system-level integration and troubleshooting.
- Ensure compliance with relevant automotive standards , including ISO 26262 .
- Maintain technical documentation and software development records.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electronics, E&TC;, Electrical Engineering or a related field.




- 2-4 years of hands-on experience in Embedded Controller Design/Development .
- Robust knowledge of Embedded C/C++ .
- Experience with ARM/DSP microcontrollers .
- Good understanding of EV motor control algorithms such as FOC, PID and DTC.
- Experience with CAN, SPI and UART communication protocols.
- Hands-on experience in software testing, debugging and system integration .
- Knowledge of RTOS .
- Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink .
- Knowledge of Git and automotive software development practices.
- Exposure to functional safety / ISO 26262 will be an advantage.
- Strong hands-on embedded software development experience.
- Good analytical and debugging skills.
