As Director of Research & Development at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll guide teams developing advanced solutions that enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. You'll establish strategic direction for R&D; initiatives while cultivating a culture of scientific excellence and collaboration. Working closely with cross-functional partners, you'll oversee product development from concept through commercialization, ensuring successful delivery of effective solutions. You'll support and develop teams of scientists,



engineers and technical experts while maintaining strong connections across the organization to advance innovation and technological progress. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to scientific discovery through leadership of research programs and development of transformative products.

Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of experience in R&D; in regulated industries, with 5+ years in leadership roles

Preferred Fields of Study: Biology, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Engineering

Strong understanding of quality systems and regulatory requirements (FDA, ISO, GMP)

Experience managing complex projects, budgets and resources

Strong leadership abilities with demonstrated success building and developing teams

Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally

Experience managing matrix relationships and cross-functional teams

Strong project management and organizational skills

Proficiency in English required; additional languages beneficial

Experience with stage-gate product development processes
