Job Summary

The English Lecturer is responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in English language and literature, developing course materials, assessing student performance, and contributing to the academic and intellectual life of the institution. The role involves fostering critical thinking, communication skills, and a solid understanding of literary and linguistic concepts.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials in the English language, literature, and related subjects
- Design and update course syllabi, lesson plans, and teaching materials
- Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, examinations, and presentations
- Provide academic guidance, mentoring, and feedback to students
- Conduct and publish scholarly research (where applicable)
- Participate in curriculum development and academic quality assurance
- Engage in departmental meetings, committees, and institutional activities
- Stay current with developments in English studies and teaching methodologies

Qualifications

- Master’s degree (MA in english) or PhD in English, Literature,



Linguistics, or a related field
- Teaching qualification or certification (preferred, depending on institution)
- Strong command of spoken and written English
- Demonstrated teaching experience at the tertiary level (preferred)
- Research publications (required for research-focused institutions)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹38,000.00 per month
