Key Responsibilities

- Diagnostics & Reporting:
- Analyze tissue samples (histopathology and surgical pathology), cell smears (cytopathology), blood/bone marrow (hematopathology), and clinical chemistry/microbiology specimens.
- Review and authorize diagnostic reports within defined Turnaround Times (TAT). [1]
- Clinical Consultation:
- Correlate laboratory findings with patient clinical history.
- Consult with treating physicians and surgeons to interpret complex or critical case findings. [1, 2]
- Laboratory Management & Quality Control:
- Oversee daily lab operations, ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain quality assurance programs and support accreditation standards (such as NABL, NABH, or CAP).
- Supervise calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment. [1, 2, 3, 4]
- Team Supervision & Training:
- Supervise and mentor junior doctors, pathology residents, and technical staff.
- Conduct departmental training and participate in clinicopathological conference
