Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tax Preparer specializing in Form 1040 to join our agile team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing complex individual income tax returns, ensuring accuracy, compliance with tax laws, and providing exceptional client service. This role requires a thorough understanding of federal and state tax regulations, proficiency with various tax software, and the ability to manage multiple client engagements efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare accurate and complete federal and state individual income tax returns (Form 1040) including all associated schedules (e.g., Schedule A, B, C, D, E, F, K-1).
- Gather, organize, and analyze client financial information, including W-2s, 1099s, K-1s, investment statements, and other relevant tax documents.
- Conduct thorough interviews with clients to obtain necessary information, clarify data, and identify potential deductions or credits.
- Review tax returns prepared by junior staff for accuracy, completeness,



and compliance with current tax laws and firm policies.
- Research complex tax issues and provide clear, concise explanations to clients and colleagues.
- Advise clients on tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and ensure compliance.
- Respond to inquiries from tax authorities (IRS, state agencies) regarding tax notices and audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in tax laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Utilize tax preparation software and other accounting tools efficiently to streamline the tax preparation process.
- Ensure strict adherence to client confidentiality and data security protocols.
- Assist with other accounting and tax-related projects as needed during non-peak seasons.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships through professional and responsive communication.
