- Law | Chennai Good tax practice begins with meticulous research and culminates with compelling advocacy. We are looking for lawyers who value both. If you enjoy deep research, write with precision, and want hands-on exposure to tax litigation and legal advisory from day one, we'd like to hear from you. What we do? Tax remains at the heart of our practice: we represent clients in income tax proceedings from assessment through to the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal. Beyond tax, our work extends across corporate advisory and compliance, proceedings before the DRT and NCLT, estate and succession planning, trusts, and the drafting of deeds and transactional documentation. For young lawyers, this is a wide and unique range of practice, that only a few firms offer at the start of career. You will learn directly from seasoned chartered accountants, as well as advocates, while handling live, consequential matters across multiple areas of fiscal laws. Roles &

Responsibilities:
· Drafting replies to income tax notices in scrutiny, reassessment and penalty proceedings, along with applications for condonation of delay, rectification, stay of demand and ancillary reliefs;
· Preparation of grounds of appeal, statements of facts and written submissions, before various income tax authorities and judicial forums, along with representations;




· Undertaking in-depth research on statutory provisions, judicial precedents and emerging legal issues, and preparation of research notes and legal opinions;
· Drafting and vetting agreements, deeds and other legal instruments, along with statutory documentation and filings under the Companies Act, 2013;
· Assistance in legal due diligence, title verification and post-restructuring corporate compliances;
· Coordination with clients and internal teams, manage multiple assignments and ensure timely delivery of accurate, high-quality work. What We're Looking For:

B. (mandatory);
· PQE
- 1 to 3 years of experience; freshers with a solid interest in taxation laws and practice shall be preferred;
· Strong legal research, analytical and drafting skills;
· A sound understanding of tax laws and procedural requirements, or a keen willingness to develop expertise in these areas;
· Clear and effective written and verbal communication;
· Attention to detail and analytical thinking;
· A disciplined approach to managing deadlines and delivering quality work under pressure;
· A collaborative mindset, professional integrity and a willingness to learn.
