Role Description The Animal Caretaker is a full time, on-site role based in Jamnagar, responsible for the daily care, wellbeing, and safe handling of animals associated with Vantara Creamery’s operations and sanctuary values. This role involves feeding animals according to established schedules and dietary guidelines, monitoring their health and behavior, and promptly reporting any concerns to supervisors or veterinary staff. The Animal Caretaker will maintain clean, safe enclosures and surrounding areas, assist with routine grooming, and support basic health checks in line with prescribed protocols. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate records of feed, health observations, and treatments, assisting with animal transport when required, and collaborating with the team to ensure humane, respectful handling at all times.



The role requires adherence to safety and hygiene standards, support during emergencies, and a strong alignment with Vantara’s principles of care and rehabilitation. Qualifications
• Demonstrated experience in animal care, handling, or husbandry in a farm, sanctuary, shelter, or similar environment.
• Knowledge of basic animal health, behavior observation, and welfare standards, with the ability to follow veterinary and care instructions accurately.
• Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, cleaning, and working outdoors for extended periods, while maintaining safety and hygiene practices.
• Strong attention to detail, record-keeping skills, and reliability in following daily routines and protocols.
• Effective communication skills, ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team, and respect for inclusive, non-discriminatory workplace practices.
• High level of compassion, patience, and ethical commitment to animal welfare, aligned with Vantara’s rescue and rehabilitation values.
• Willingness to work on-site in Jamnagar with flexible hours as needed, including weekends or holidays based on animal care requirements.
• Prior experience in dairy or agricultural settings, and familiarity with sanctuary or conservation environments, is an advantage.
