Role Description The Senior Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, responsible for leading the design and development of mechanical and automated systems, moulds, and fixtures for automotive applications. The role involves conceptualizing and detailing designs using CAD tools, preparing engineering drawings and documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in production, quality, and project management. Daily tasks include reviewing customer requirements, performing design calculations, validating feasibility, and optimizing designs for manufacturability, cost, and performance. The Senior Design Engineer will oversee prototype development,



support trial runs, participate in design reviews, and implement design improvements based on testing and feedback. The role also includes mentoring junior engineers, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in design processes. Qualifications
• Robust foundation in Design Engineering and Product Design, with experience in developing mechanical systems, moulds, and automation solutions.
• Solid background in Mechanical Engineering, including knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, tolerances, and strength of materials.
• Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools (such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or AutoCAD) for 3D modeling, detailing, and assembly design.
• Exposure to Electrical Engineering principles related to automation systems, sensors, actuators, and basic control elements is beneficial.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience in automotive or industrial machinery design, preferably with SPM, moulds, fixtures, or CNC machining components.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications, OEM standards, and industry regulations, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with manufacturing teams and external stakeholders.
• Proven track record of managing multiple design projects, meeting deadlines, and maintaining high quality in deliverables.
