Position: Quality – NPD Engineer (New Product Development)

Location: Patiala, Punjab

Industry: Tractor Manufacturing / Agricultural Machinery

Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering

Salary: Up to 40,000 per month

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Quality – NPD Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience specifically in the Tractor Manufacturing Industry. The candidate will be responsible for quality assurance during new product development, validation of newly developed components, supplier quality coordination, and smooth transition of new tractor models and components into regular production.

Candidates with experience in a Tractor OEM, particularly in Quality and New Product Development (NPD), will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage Quality–NPD activities for current tractor models, components, and assemblies.
- Coordinate with R&D;, Design, Production, Purchase, and Supplier Development teams.
- Review engineering drawings, BOM, GD&T;, and technical specifications.
- Prepare and maintain APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, and Inspection Standards.
- Monitor prototype, pilot, and pre-production trials and resolve quality-related issues.
- Handle quality activities for engine, transmission, hydraulic, axle, chassis, sheet metal, fabrication, and machined components.
- Coordinate with suppliers for new part development, dimensional inspection, trials, and PPAP approvals.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis using 5 Why, Fishbone, 8D, and CAPA methodologies.
- Monitor First Article Inspection (FAI) and dimensional inspection of newly developed components.




- Analyse rejection, rework, and defects and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Prepare NPD Quality MIS, development status reports, and quality documentation.
- Ensure smooth transition of products from prototype to pilot production and regular mass production.

Required Technical Skills

- Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and MSA.
- Good understanding of GD&T;, engineering drawings, and dimensional inspection.
- Knowledge of tractor components, assemblies, and manufacturing processes.
- Hands-on experience in Tractor Industry Quality / NPD.
- Practical knowledge of 8D, CAPA, RCA, 5 Why, and Fishbone analysis.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Quality MIS, reporting, and cross-functional coordination.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Mandatory Candidate Criteria

- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the Tractor Manufacturing Industry.
- Experience specifically in Quality – NPD / New Product Development Quality is required.
- Tractor OEM experience is preferred.
- Mechanical or Automobile Engineering qualification is mandatory.
- Candidates must have practical knowledge of NPD quality documentation and new component development.
- Salary expectation should be within 40,000 per month.

Preferred Candidate Background

Candidates currently working in tractor manufacturing companies or tractor OEMs in Quality, NPD Quality, Supplier Quality, or New Product Development roles will be preferred, provided they meet the mandatory tractor-industry experience requirement.
