Role Description The Deputy General Manager Operations is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, responsible for overseeing day-to-day plant and operational activities. This role includes planning and managing production schedules, optimizing resource utilization, and ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The position involves leading and coaching cross-functional teams, coordinating with internal stakeholders and key customers, and resolving operational issues to maintain high service levels. The Deputy General Manager Operations will monitor budgets and operational costs, review performance metrics, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and support strategic decision-making to enhance overall efficiency and profitability. Qualifications

• Candidates should possess solid Operations Management capabilities, with experience in production planning, process optimization, and performance monitoring.

• Candidates should possess sound Budgeting skills, including cost control, forecasting, and resource allocation within operational functions.
• Relevant experience in mining, metals, manufacturing, or industrial operations, preferably at a senior supervisory or managerial level.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in using operational KPIs and data for decision-making.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams on-site.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification in management is an advantage.
• Familiarity with safety standards, quality management systems, and continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma is beneficial.
