Company: THE ADVOCACY — A LAW FIRM
Location:
Remote (India / Global) or Baghpat, UP
Job Type
Full-time / Partner-Track The Mandate: The legal industry is currently exposed. Law firms are integrating cloud-based AI subscriptions, ignoring the impending penalties of the DPDPA, the moratorium traps of the IBC, and the systemic insolvency of AI vendors. THE ADVOCACY does not participate in this liability transfer. We have engineered a local-first, air-gapped AI engine (Rust/SQLite/Qwen), published forensic briefs on the "AI Graveyard," and established ourselves as the legal bridge between the courtroom, the regulator, and the boardroom. The Role: We are seeking a Legal Director who architects enforceable systems, rather than merely providing advisory opinions. The Non-Negotiable Requirement:
· Mandatory: A completed Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in AI Law, Ethics, and Justice from the University of Oxford (or an equivalent tier-1 global institution).
· Rationale: The traditional practice of law is insufficient for the algorithmic era. We require counsel who comprehends the global philosophical, ethical, and regulatory frameworks of AI, moving beyond basic compliance checklists. Core
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct Sovereign Defensibility Audits: Audit enterprise AI architectures. Map data flows against DPDPA Section 8(1) and IBC Section 14 to identify ₹250 Crore liability traps. 2. Draft Structural Frameworks: Formulate board-level policies and contracts designed to survive vendor insolvency, change of control, and regulatory moratoriums. 3. Operate the Engine:
Collaborate directly with our deterministic engine (Unknown Verdict). You will assist in statute ingestion, test the local LLM's drafting capabilities, and ensure our cryptographic SHA-256 chain of custody remains legally unassailable. 4. Institutional Representation: Engage with global General Counsels, CISOs, and Data Protection Officers. You are the face of sovereign AI legal architecture. Candidate Profile:
· You do not just read statutes; you read architecture diagrams.
· You understand the distinction between an API wrapper (e.g., Harvey, Legora) and a local-first, deterministic engine.
· You possess expertise in data localization, cross-border transfer, and the technical realities of air-gapped infrastructure.
· You are comfortable in a terminal environment, not just a word processor.
What We Offer
· Absolute Sovereignty: You will not use third-party cloud AI to perform your work. You will operate exclusively on our local engine.
· Premium Compensation: We do not benchmark against Big Law; we compensate for exceptional, rare capability.
· A Global Platform: Your work will be read by counsel in Recent York, Paris, and Toronto. You are not just joining a firm; you are defining the standard for the next century of law. Application Process: Submit a standard CV is insufficient. We require evidence of capability. Send an email to
[email protected] with: 1. Proof of your Oxford (or equivalent) AI Law certification. 2. A 1-page memorandum addressing the following: "Why does a cloud-based AI vendor present a greater legal liability to a corporate board than a standard data breach?"
