ADC Architect and Lead Design Engineer

Analog / Mixed-Signal IC Design | 10+ Years Experience

Role Overview

Seeking an experienced ADC architect and design lead to own high-speed ADC architecture, critical analog design, mixed-signal verification, silicon characterization, and technical mentorship from specification through production.

Key Responsibilities

- Define ADC architecture against resolution, sample rate, bandwidth, power, and area targets.

- Design and optimize critical analog signal-chain sub-blocks.

- Develop trim and calibration strategies.

- Lead top-level verification, including behavioral/Verilog-AMS models, Monte Carlo mismatch analysis, and PVT/corner characterization.

- Partner with digital design teams to define ADC control-logic requirements.

- Lead silicon bring-up, bench characterization, and performance debugging against specifications.

- Review matching-critical layouts and guide floorplanning for noise and coupling isolation.

- Mentor analog designers in ADC design methodologies and debugging.

- Collaborate with systems and applications teams on control-loop bandwidth and accuracy across operating conditions.

Required Qualifications

- B.Tech/M.Tech, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or a related field.

- 10+ years in analog/mixed-signal IC design,



including 5+ years specifically in high-speed ADC architecture and design.

- Proven ownership of at least one high-speed ADC from architecture through silicon to production, with measured performance against specifications.

- Hands-on proficiency in Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, and analog design/verification flows.

- Experience with mixed-signal verification using Verilog-AMS and/or real-number modeling.

- Working knowledge of advanced CMOS process nodes.

- Hands-on ADC silicon bench characterization, test-plan development, and performance debug.

Preferred / Bonus Qualifications

- ADC design for power-management ICs, including current sensing, voltage-loop telemetry, or multiphase controller feedback.

- ESD and I/O protection for precision analog pins; automotive/industrial functional safety (e.g., ISO 26262).

- ADC architecture/calibration publications, patents, or conference contributions.

- Experience leading or mentoring small analog design teams in fast-paced environments.

- Digital-on-top or AMS SoC integration flows (e.g., Innovus).

- Strong delivery ownership, communication, stakeholder collaboration, analytical thinking, and ability to ramp quickly on recent products.
