ABOUT THE ROLE
As Consultant – Agribusiness Investment & Transaction Advisory, you will help agribusinesses become investment-ready, develop a credible pipeline of bankable opportunities, and facilitate transactions with financial institutions and investors. The role involves a live seed-enterprise demonstration and requires strong capabilities in financial modelling, due diligence, deal origination, transaction advisory, and investor engagement. You will work closely with the Institution's teams and other technical specialists to establish sustainable investment-readiness processes and strengthen institutional capabilities.



THE PROGRAMME SkyQuest is delivering a technical assistance programme to strengthen a national agricultural development finance institution in Nigeria. The programme aims to improve the mobilisation and deployment of finance to agricultural enterprises and organisations serving smallholder farmers, particularly women and underserved producers. The embedded Technical Support Unit (TSU) works alongside the Institution's teams, focusing on transferring sustainable capabilities and embedding validated systems, processes, and practices within the Institution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assess the Institution's investment pipeline, enterprise documentation, and existing investment-readiness practices.
• Develop investment-readiness criteria, assessment frameworks, documentation standards, and stage-gate processes.
• Work with agribusinesses to strengthen governance, operations, financial records, and overall financing readiness.
• Prepare investor-grade business plans, financial models, investment cases, and data rooms.
• Build a diversified pipeline of investment-ready agribusinesses across seed systems and other priority value chains.
• Originate investment opportunities and support investor engagement, due diligence,



and transactions through to financial close.
• Lead or support the seed-enterprise demonstration, including enterprise assessment, integrated financial modelling, investment case development, financing strategy, and capital-provider mapping.
• Develop standard templates and toolkits, train the Institution's investment team, and facilitate the handover of processes to designated owners.
• Contribute performance indicators, programme results, and key learnings to programme reporting and the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) framework. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Education
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Agribusiness, or a related field.
• MBA or CFA qualification will be an advantage. Professional Experience
• 15+ years of experience in investment banking, transaction advisory, private equity, or agribusiness investment.
• Proven ability to develop bankable business cases, financial models, and investor-ready data rooms, and manage due diligence processes.
• Demonstrated track record in deal origination and investor engagement, including taking transactions through to closing.
• Willingness and ability to work across India and Nigeria, including in-country travel. DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
• Solid understanding of seed systems and agricultural value chains.
• Experience with DFI, impact-investment, or blended-finance transactions in Sub-Saharan Africa.
• Previous experience working on development-partner-funded programmes.
