Assistant / Associate Pulse Breeder

ADVAHARVEST™ is hiring an Assistant / Associate Pulse Breeder to join our cutting-edge R&D; team in Rudrapur, Uttarakhand. Founded in 2021, we are a fast-growing agri-tech startup dedicated to delivering high-yielding, climate-resilient crop varieties that enhance profitability and sustainability for smallholder farmers across India.

Primary Work Location: Rudrapur R&D; Centre, Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand – 263153.

Corporate Office: Mokila, Ranga Reddy District, Telangana – 501203.

Key Responsibilities:

o Your primary mission is to develop high-yielding, climate-resilient pulses witha dedicated focus on Mungbean (Moong) and Urdbean (Urad) for key Indian agro-climatic zones.

o Disease & Pest Resistance: Target robust resistance against major pulses threats, specifically Mungbean Yellow Mosaic Virus (MYMV), Powdery Mildew, and Leaf Crinkle Virus.

o Climate Resilience: Breed for early maturity, synchronous podding, and heat/drought tolerance during summer (Zaid) and Kharif cropping seasons.

o Quality Attributes: Focus on premium grain quality traits,



including bold seed size, high protein content, lustrous seed coat, and excellent cooking quality.

o Field Trials: Design, execute, and manage comprehensive pulse breeding trials and hybridization programs.

Requirements & Qualifications:

o Education: MSc or PhD in Plant Breeding, Genetics, or a closely related agricultural science field

o Experience: 1 to 5 years of hands-on experience in pulses or legume breeding.

o Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in pedigree/bulk selection methods, crossing techniques, and breeding data analysis
