Role Description The Volunteer role at Astitva is a volunteer, on-site position based in Patna, Bihar. Volunteers will help plan and participate in community activities and educational sessions for underprivileged children, supporting their learning, confidence, and creativity. Day-to-day tasks may include assisting with workshops, coordinating small group activities, helping organize events, and engaging children through games, discussions, and mentoring. Volunteers may also support basic administrative tasks such as maintaining attendance records,



coordinating schedules, and communicating with other team members. This role offers hands-on experience in community service and child-focused initiatives, while working closely with a youth-led team. Qualifications
• Ability to engage respectfully and empathetically with children from diverse backgrounds and provide a protected, encouraging environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with other volunteers, community members, and partner organizations.
• Interest in social impact, child development, education, or community work, with a willingness to learn and adapt.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to commit consistent time on-site in Patna as agreed with the Astitva team.
• Basic organizational and time-management skills to help coordinate activities, events, and volunteer responsibilities.
• Comfort working in a youth-led environment and openness to sharing ideas, feedback, and creative solutions.
• Prior volunteering or community engagement experience is helpful but not required.
• Fluency in Hindi is highly beneficial; basic English communication skills are an advantage.
