About Us
We are a deep tech startup focusing on the development of aero engines and turbines for defence and energy applications. We are a dynamic team of aerospace enthusiasts — a passionate group focusing on scientific first principles based analysis and development, followed by rapid hardware iterations. This is a fast-paced work environment that demands quick execution and tangible results in a short period of time.
Location:
Vadodara, Gujarat Department: Engineering / Mechanical Design Reports To: Head of Engineering / Design Lead Employment Type: Full-Time (Fully On-Site)
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of practical experience in mechanical component design and development Role Overview: We are looking for a practical, technically strong Component Design & Development Engineer who can convert engineering requirements into manufacturable, reliable, and validated component designs. A good design must work in real conditions, be possible to manufacture, meet quality requirements, and perform as intended. The selected candidate will own assigned designs from requirements clarification through release, working closely with manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and suppliers. The candidate is expected to think from first principles and to verify calculations, simulations, drawings, and AI-generated suggestions before standing behind them.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Documentation
• Develop component models, assemblies, production drawings, and technical documentation using a suitable CAD platform
• Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T;), fits, clearances, and tolerance-stack analysis where required Design for Manufacturing & Material Selection
• Evaluate machining, fabrication, assembly, inspection, cost, and manufacturability before releasing designs
• Select materials and manufacturing processes based on function, operating conditions, quality, availability, and cost Engineering Analysis & Risk Reduction
• Support or perform thermal, structural, and component-performance analysis using calculations,
simulation tools, and test evidence
• Identify potential failure modes through DFMEA, assess risks, and define design actions before problems reach production Prototype Development & Validation
• Coordinate prototype manufacture, inspections, and testing
• Carry out design verification and implement corrective modifications Supplier & Cross-Functional Coordination
• Work with manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and suppliers to resolve technical issues Configuration Control & Ownership
• Maintain drawing revisions, engineering changes, design records, and traceability of approved modifications
• Take responsibility for assigned designs from requirements clarification through release and resolution of development issues How Success Will Be Evaluated
• Design accuracy and completeness
• Manufacturability, assembly feasibility, and quality of engineering releases
• Prototype and validation effectiveness
• Reduction in avoidable design rework and recurring technical issues
• Timely closure of engineering actions and supplier-related problems Performance areas are illustrative and will be agreed with the hiring manager. Qualifications & Experience Essential:
• Minimum 3 years of relevant, practical experience in mechanical component design and development
• Hands-on proficiency in at least one professional 3D CAD platform; candidates from different CAD environments are welcome
• Working knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T;, tolerances, materials, manufacturing processes, and inspection requirements
• Practical exposure to design reviews, problem-solving, prototype development, or design validation
• Ability to read technical requirements and translate them into workable engineering solutions
