This is a remote position. Role Purpose We are looking for a hands-on Informatica PowerCenter migration specialist who has led or executed modernization programs involving migration of existing PowerCenter workloads to modern cloud/data integration platforms. This role will assess an existing PowerCenter/PowerExchange estate, identify recurring workload patterns, determine migration complexity, define target migration approaches, and support hands-on migration of representative workloads during POCs. The person should be comfortable working at both architecture and implementation level. This is not a pure advisory/enterprise architect role.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze existing Informatica PowerCenter workflows, mappings, sessions, worklets and dependencies.
• Review PowerCenter repository metadata and runtime configurations.
• Understand source/target connectivity, transformation logic, scheduling, parameterization and error handling.
• Assess PowerExchange usage and identify migration implications.
• Classify workloads into repeatable migration patterns.
• Identify workflows suitable for:
• Snowflake-native processing
• Snowflake Openflow
• dbt
• MuleSoft
• Other approved integration patterns
• Determine migration complexity and remediation requirements.
• Identify opportunities to consolidate or rationalize existing PowerCenter jobs rather than performing one-to-one conversion.
• Define migration patterns, technical specifications and implementation guidelines.
• Select representative workloads for POCs.
• Perform or guide hands-on migration of selected PowerCenter workloads.
• Validate functional equivalence between existing Informatica processing and the proposed target solution.
• Identify PowerCenter-specific behaviors that must be reproduced or redesigned in the target environment.
• Support migration estimation, wave planning and sequencing.
• Work closely with Snowflake, MuleSoft and mainframe specialists. Required Skills
• Strong hands-on experience with Informatica PowerCenter.
• Strong understanding of:
• Workflows
• Worklets
• Sessions
• Mappings
• Mapplets

• Experience with Informatica repository metadata analysis.
• Experience troubleshooting PowerCenter runtime and session logs.
• Strong understanding of file-based and database-based ETL integration.
• Experience migrating PowerCenter workloads to up-to-date cloud/data platforms.
• Good understanding of Snowflake and ELT-based architectures.
• Ability to distinguish between workloads requiring migration, redesign, consolidation or retirement.
• Strong understanding of batch scheduling, dependencies, restart/recovery and reconciliation.
• Ability to estimate migration effort based on workload complexity. Strongly Preferred
• Previous migration experience from PowerCenter to Snowflake.
• Experience with PowerExchange.
• Experience with mainframe-related integration.
• Exposure to VSAM and EBCDIC files.
• Experience with dbt.
• Experience with Snowflake-native transformation and orchestration.
• Exposure to Openflow or modern managed data movement platforms.
• Experience building migration accelerators or automated metadata assessment utilities. Experience Level 10+ years overall integration/data engineering experience, including significant hands-on PowerCenter experience. Preference for candidates who have personally executed at least one major PowerCenter modernization/migration program.
