Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Plant Head from the steel industry to oversee and manage end-to-end plant operations, ensuring efficient production, quality control, inventory management, safety, and timely dispatch. The ideal candidate must have strong technical knowledge of steel processing operations, proven leadership abilities, and experience in managing plant manpower, productivity, and operational costs.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day plant operations, production planning, and execution to achieve production targets and delivery schedules.

Manage steel processing activities, ensuring optimum utilization of machinery, manpower, and raw materials.

Monitor quality standards and ensure compliance with established production and inspection procedures.

Coordinate with purchase, sales, quality, maintenance, stores, and dispatch teams for smooth plant operations.

Ensure proper inventory control of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.

Monitor machine performance, coordinate preventive maintenance, and minimize production downtime.

Implement systems to improve productivity, reduce wastage, control operational costs, and enhance efficiency.

Ensure adherence to workplace safety standards, housekeeping practices, and statutory requirements.

Lead, train, and supervise plant personnel while maintaining discipline and accountability.

Prepare and review daily production reports, MIS, material consumption reports, and operational performance indicators.





Identify operational bottlenecks and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Take ownership of overall plant performance, ensuring timely order execution and customer satisfaction.

Eligibility Criteria

Mandatory: Candidates must have relevant experience in the steel industry, preferably in a steel service centre or steel processing unit.

Minimum 5–10 years of experience in steel plant operations, with prior experience in a senior supervisory or managerial role.

Strong understanding of steel processing operations, machinery, production planning, and quality control.

Experience in handling plant manpower, inventory, dispatch, maintenance coordination, and production targets.

Positive leadership, problem-solving, communication, and team management skills.

Ability to work with operational reports, MIS, and production performance data.

Candidates with hands-on experience in managing end-to-end plant operations will be preferred.

Achievement of daily and monthly production targets.

Reduction in material wastage and operational costs.

Improvement in machine utilization and reduction in downtime.

Maintenance of quality standards and reduction in rejection rates.

Timely completion of orders and dispatches.

Effective inventory management and manpower productivity.

Compliance with safety standards and plant discipline.

Ideal Candidate: A hands-on professional from the steel industry who can independently manage plant operations, lead teams, drive productivity, and ensure smooth coordination between production, quality, inventory, and dispatch.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
