Job Purpose

To ensure safe, reliable and uninterrupted operation of all electrical systems, machines, motors, VFD panels, DG sets and related electrical equipment in the factory.

Key Responsibilities

- Electrical Maintenance
- Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment and machinery.
- Identify and rectify electrical faults in a timely manner.
- Maintain electrical panels, MCC panels, control panels and distribution boards.
- VFD Panel Maintenance
- Installation, operation and troubleshooting of VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) panels.
- Check VFD parameters, alarms, trips, overload and fault conditions.
- Carry out basic VFD programming and parameter setting as required.
- Ensure proper functioning of VFD-controlled motors.
- Motor Maintenance
- Maintenance and troubleshooting of AC motors, induction motors and other industrial motors.
- Check motor current, voltage, insulation, temperature, vibration and abnormal noise.
- Assist in motor installation, alignment, connection and replacement.
- Check motor starters, contactors, overload relays and protection systems.
- DG Set Maintenance
- Operate and monitor Diesel Generator (DG) sets during power failure.
- Check DG voltage, frequency, load, battery, fuel, coolant and oil levels.
- Carry out routine inspection and basic troubleshooting of DG electrical systems.
- Maintain DG operation and maintenance records.
- Electrical Safety
- Follow all electrical safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Ensure proper earthing of electrical equipment and panels.
- Follow LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures during maintenance.
- Do not work on live electrical equipment without proper authorization and safety precautions.
- Preventive Maintenance
- Conduct regular inspection of electrical panels, motors, cables, switches and control systems.




- Prepare and maintain preventive maintenance checklists.
- Identify potential electrical problems before equipment breakdown occurs.
- Breakdown Handling
- Attend electrical breakdowns immediately and restore equipment safely.
- Coordinate with the Production and Maintenance teams during breakdowns.
- Record breakdown details, root cause and corrective action.
- Cable & Wiring Work
- Cable laying, termination, dressing and identification.
- Troubleshoot control wiring and power wiring.
- Check MCB, MCCB, contactor, relay, timer, sensor and other electrical components.
- Documentation
- Maintain records of electrical breakdowns, preventive maintenance and spare parts used.
- Update electrical equipment and motor maintenance records.
- Report major electrical issues to the Maintenance Head.

Required Skills

- Good knowledge of industrial electrical systems.
- Practical knowledge of VFD panels and motor troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of DG set operation and electrical maintenance.
- Knowledge of MCC, PCC, control panels and motor starters.
- Ability to read basic electrical wiring diagrams.
- Knowledge of electrical safety, earthing and LOTO.
- Ability to work in shifts and handle emergency breakdowns.

Qualification

- ITI – Electrician / Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Relevant industrial/factory electrical maintenance experience preferred.

Experience

2–5 years of experience in factory/industrial electrical maintenance preferred.
