Role Description The Study Abroad Counsellor will work full time in office at Edunom’s Bhubaneswar office. This role involves guiding students and families through the entire process of selecting suitable MBA and MBBS programs abroad, including understanding eligibility, choosing universities and countries, and clarifying admission requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting counselling sessions, answering queries via phone, email, and in person, and maintaining accurate records of student interactions and application status.

The counsellor will help students prepare application documents, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and provide timely updates on deadlines and procedures. The role also includes participating in seminars or workshops, supporting outreach activities,



and contributing to continuous improvement of counselling processes and resources.

Qualifications

- Strong student counselling and advisory skills, including the ability to understand academic profiles and career goals and suggest suitable study abroad options.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in clear spoken and written English and the ability to explain complex admission processes in a simple way.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple students’ cases, track application timelines, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Basic knowledge of MBA and MBBS admission processes abroad, including entrance tests, eligibility criteria, and visa or pre-departure procedures, or a strong willingness to learn quickly.
- Comfort using computers and common office software (email, spreadsheets, presentation tools, CRM or student management systems).
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; a background in education, counselling, management, or related fields is an advantage.
- Prior experience in education consulting, career counselling, or customer-facing roles is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to work in a team, uphold ethical and non-discriminatory counselling practices, and show patience and empathy toward students and families.
