We’re hiring: Mechanical Design Engineer

Techmatix Engineering Private Limited is looking for an Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer who can independently handle mechanical design tasks and gradually take more project responsibility from our Nagapattinam office.

We provide mechanical design services for customised machines, SPMs, industrial automation, assembly and test systems, conveyors, jigs, fixtures and material-handling equipment for UK and US customers.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop 3D models, assemblies and manufacturing-ready designs
- Prepare manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings and BOMs
- Design machined, fabricated and sheet-metal components
- Select suitable standard components such as bearings, shafts, gear motors, cylinders and linear guides
- Modify existing designs based on customer requirements and review comments
- Check designs for clashes, clearances, tolerances, assembly and manufacturability
- Follow customer standards, Techmatix procedures and engineering checklists
- Handle assigned work with limited day-to-day supervision
- Raise missing information, design concerns and project risks early
- Support and guide junior engineers when required
- Gradually take ownership of small projects or subassemblies

Required Experience & Skills

- Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Automobile or related Engineering
- Approximately 2–5 years of relevant mechanical-design experience




- Experience in customised machines, SPMs, industrial automation, conveyors, jigs, fixtures, assembly systems or similar equipment preferred
- Good understanding of fabrication, machining and assembly methods
- Working knowledge of fits, tolerances and GD&T;
- Experience preparing manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings and BOMs
- Good understanding of bearings, shafts, gearboxes, linear-motion components and pneumatics
- Ability to convert design requirements into practical manufacturing-ready designs
- Good attention to detail, ownership and self-checking discipline
- Tamil communication required and ability to understand technical English

CAD Requirements

- Autodesk Inventor experience preferred
- Strong SolidWorks experience is also acceptable with good machine-design fundamentals and willingness to learn Inventor
- AutoCAD knowledge is useful

Employment Details

Location: Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu

Work Mode: Work from Office

Job Type: Full time

Working Days: Monday to Saturday

Working Hours: 9:30 AM – 6:30 PM

Experience: 2–4 years

Salary: ₹22,000–₹40,000 per month, based on relevant experience and practical capability

Probation: Six months
