Role Description The Interior Draftsperson (Interior Draftsman) will be responsible for preparing detailed 2D and 3D drawings, layouts, and working drawings for interior fit-out projects, ensuring accuracy and alignment with design intent and site conditions. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting design briefs, coordinating with designers, project managers, and site teams, updating drawings based on feedback, and maintaining organized drawing documentation and version control. The role involves preparing furniture and joinery details, material specifications, and coordination drawings for services (MEP) in line with project standards and safety requirements.

The Interior

Draftsperson will also participate in site visits to take measurements, verify conditions,



and support resolution of technical issues with execution teams. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai.

Qualifications

- Strong proficiency in industry-standard drafting and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit or similar), with the ability to produce clear, detailed interior drawings and layouts.
- Solid understanding of interior fit-out processes, joinery/furniture detailing, materials, finishes, and basic MEP coordination relevant to commercial, residential, retail, and hospitality projects.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, take accurate site measurements, and translate design concepts into technical drawings suitable for manufacturing and installation.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with designers, project managers, vendors, and site teams, including the ability to incorporate feedback and meet project deadlines.
- Solid attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills, including maintaining drawing logs, revising drawings systematically, and adhering to company standards.
- Relevant technical qualification such as a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Prior experience in an interior fit-out or manufacturing environment is highly beneficial; familiarity with local building codes and safety standards in Chennai is an advantage.
- Willingness to work on-site, conduct regular site visits, and adapt to project schedules and timelines.
