About Contract Bazaar

Contract Bazaar is a legal technology company making legal services simpler and more accessible for startups and businesses across India. We're a fast-growing team of lawyers and professionals, and we're looking for an HR professional to build and run our people function.

You will be our main HR person, owning hiring and payroll from start to finish. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building processes in a growing company and working closely with the founders.

Recruitment

Run the full hiring cycle: understanding needs, writing job descriptions, sourcing, screening, scheduling interviews, making offers and closing candidates.

Hire for a mix of roles, including lawyers, operations, sales and support staff.

Source through job portals (Naukri, LinkedIn, Indeed), referrals, law colleges and consultants.

Maintain a pipeline of candidates and track hiring data such as time-to-hire and cost-per-hire.

Payroll and compliance

Process monthly payroll accurately and on time,



including attendance, leave, salary changes, reimbursements and deductions.

PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, TDS on salaries and Form 16.

Keep employee records, salary structures and HR files accurate and confidential.

Manage exits: full and final settlements, relieving letters and experience letters.

HR operations and culture

Set up and improve HR policies, leave rules and an employee handbook.

Run employee engagement activities and easy performance review processes.

4–6 years of HR experience, with strong hands-on work in both recruitment and payroll.

- Good knowledge of Indian payroll and labour compliance (PF, ESIC, PT, TDS).
- Experience with payroll or HRMS software such as Zoho People, Keka, greytHR or similar, and good working knowledge of Excel.
- Excellent spoken and written communication in English and Hindi.
- A graduate or postgraduate degree; an MBA/PGDM in HR is preferred.
- Experience in a startup, legal, or professional services firm is a plus.
