Job Summary

IG Defence is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented CAD Designer Intern to join its Engineering & Product Development team. The candidate will assist with mechanical design, 3D modelling, technical drawings, and prototype development for ongoing engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities
Develop 3D models, mechanical components, assemblies, and product enclosures.
Prepare 2D engineering drawings and manufacturing-ready designs.
Support rapid prototyping, 3D printing, and design validation.
Assist with mechanical integration, mounting arrangements, and component layouts.
Modify and improve designs based on engineering feedback and testing.
Coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams during product development.
Maintain CAD files, design revisions, and technical documentation.

Required Skills
Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS or practical experience with comparable CAD software.
Understanding of 3D modelling, assemblies, and engineering drawings.




Familiarity with mechanical design principles, tolerances, and manufacturing processes.
Basic knowledge of 3D printing and rapid prototyping.
Solid problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.

Educational Qualifications
Pursuing or recently completed a Diploma/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.

Preferred Skills
Knowledge of AutoCAD, Fusion 360, CATIA, Creo, or other CAD tools.
Familiarity with slicing software and prototype fabrication.
Interest in mechanical product development.
Personal projects or a portfolio demonstrating CAD design skills.
