About the Organization
Company is one of India's leading and fastest-growing companies in the corporate travel and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Exhibitions) management space.
Headquartered in Mumbai, the organization has a track record spanning over two decades and has built a strong reputation for designing and executing large-scale, complex travel and event mandates for marquee corporate clients across India and internationally.
The company has grown consistently since its inception and is well regarded within the industry for the scale, innovation, and quality of its execution capabilities. It operates on a pan-India footprint and continues to expand its presence and service offerings. As part of its ongoing growth journey, the organization is looking to further strengthen its senior leadership team.
Role Summary
The LEAD – Finance & Accounts will be the finance leader in the organization and will act as a key strategic advisor to the CEO/Promoters and the broader leadership team. The incumbent will own financial strategy, planning, governance, compliance, treasury, and business partnering, while building institutional rigor and a scalable finance organization suited to the company's next phase of growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Financial Leadership
• Serve as a core member of the senior leadership team, partnering closely with the CEO and Promoters on business strategy, growth planning, and key investment decisions.
• Own the annual business planning, budgeting, and long-range financial planning process, aligning financial strategy with overall business objectives.
• Provide the Promoters/Board with timely, accurate, and insightful financial analysis to support key strategic and capital allocation decisions.
• Lead financial evaluation and due diligence for new business lines, geographies, partnerships,
or potential M&A; / investment opportunities.
• Build and present MIS, dashboards, and business performance reviews to the CEO/Promoters on a periodic basis.
2. Finance & Accounts Operations
• Lead the entire finance and accounts function, including accounting, revenue recognition, receivables/payables, treasury, and reconciliations across a high-volume, multi-location transaction setting.
• Ensure robust books of accounts and timely, accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual closures in line with applicable accounting standards.
• Oversee working capital management, cash-flow planning, and fund management, including banking relationships and credit facilities.
• Drive cost management, margin analysis, and profitability tracking across business verticals and locations.
3. Compliance, Risk & Governance
• Ensure full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including GST, TDS/TCS, Income Tax, Companies Act, FEMA, and other applicable laws.
• Strengthen internal financial controls, risk management frameworks, and corporate governance practices
commensurate with the organization's scale.
• Manage relationships with statutory auditors, internal auditors, tax consultants, bankers, and regulatory authorities, ensuring clean and timely audits.
• Own all statutory filings, financial reporting to Promoters/Board, and compliance calendars.
4. Business Partnering & Commercial Support
• Act as a trusted finance partner to business and operations heads, supporting pricing, vendor negotiations, contract structuring, and client profitability analysis.
• Support commercial decision-making on large corporate and MICE contracts, including deal structuring, credit risk assessment, and margin evaluation.
• Partner with sales and operations teams on receivables management and credit control,
particularly for large corporate and event-based billings.
5. Systems, Processes & Team Leadership
• Drive automation, ERP optimization/implementation, and digitization of finance processes to support scale and efficiency.
• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing Finance & Accounts team, and put in place capability-building and succession plans within the team.
• Institutionalize SOPs, internal controls, and process documentation across the finance function.
6. CFO Readiness
• Work closely with the CEO/Promoters on fund-raising, banking/lending relationships, investor communication, and capital structuring as the business scales.
• Take on progressively larger strategic responsibilities, with a clearly defined pathway to the CFO role based on demonstrated performance and business needs.
Candidate Profile
• INTER Chartered Accountant OR MBA Finance
• 8–12+ years of progressive, post-qualification experience in Finance & Accounts, with full ownership of the finance function.
• Prior experience of having independently led a finance function — not merely been part of one — for a mid-to-large sized company is essential.
• Experience in travel, tourism, hospitality, MICE/events, or other high-volume, service-oriented, multi-location businesses will be strongly preferred.
• Strong exposure to statutory compliance, audit management, treasury, working capital management, and financial controls in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
• Proven track record of building and leading finance teams, and driving process and systems improvements, including ERP and automation initiatives.
• High integrity, an ownership mindset, and the maturity to operate as a trusted advisor at the CEO/Promoter level.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the comfort to operate in an entrepreneurial, closely-held, and fast-growing environment.
Compensation & Growth Path
Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience, and will not be a constraint for the right candidate.
This role offers a genuine, performance-linked pathway to the CFO position for a candidate who demonstrates the requisite capability, ownership, and business impact.
