JOB DESCRIPTION – STRUCTURAL DESIGNER (PREFAB DIVISION)

Job Title: Structural Designer
Division: Prefab Division
Location: Tambaram, Chennai, Tamil Nadu
Salary: ₹22,000 – ₹27,000 per month
Experience: 2–3 Years
Qualification: Diploma / B.E. in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
Joining: Immediate joiners preferred

Job Responsibilities

- Prepare structural designs and drawings for prefab structures, portable cabins, site offices, security cabins, and other prefabricated buildings.
- Perform structural analysis and accurate weight calculations for steel structures and prefab components.
- Prepare detailed structural, fabrication, and shop drawings.
- Calculate material quantities and assist in preparing material estimates and BOQs.
- Coordinate with production, projects, and engineering teams to ensure design feasibility.
- Ensure designs comply with project specifications, applicable safety standards, and structural requirements.
- Optimise structural components to minimise material wastage and cost.
- Revise drawings based on project specifications and site requirements.
- Resolve design and structural issues in coordination with internal teams.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of structural design and steel weight calculation is mandatory.
- Practical experience with steel structures and prefabricated construction.
- Ability to read, interpret, and prepare technical and fabrication drawings.
- Valuable working knowledge of AutoCAD.




- Knowledge of STAAD.Pro or other structural design software will be an added advantage.
- Good analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.

Candidate Requirements

- Diploma / B.E. in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in structural design, steel structures, or prefab construction.
- Candidates residing in and around Tambaram will be preferred.
- Tamil speaking is mandatory.
- Good English communication skills.
- Immediate joiners preferred.

Salary & Benefits

- Salary: ₹22,000 – ₹27,000 per month, depending on experience and skills.
- Provident Fund (PF), as applicable.

Experience: Structural Design – 2–3 years preferred; practical steel weight calculation experience is mandatory.
Language: Tamil – Mandatory
