Job Description

Globalart Kelambakkam is looking for a passionate, patient, and enthusiastic Part-Time Teacher with experience in preschool, kindergarten, or junior school teaching.

The ideal candidate should have good academic knowledge, strong phonics skills, and the ability to engage young children through interactive, activity-based, and creative learning methods. Candidates with experience in art, drawing, painting, or craft activities will have an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

- Teach and engage young children through structured, age-appropriate learning activities.
- Demonstrate good academic knowledge in foundational subjects such as English, Mathematics, and early literacy.
- Teach phonics, including letter sounds, blending, segmenting, and basic reading skills.
- Support children's language development, reading, writing, and foundational numeracy.
- Plan and conduct interactive activities that encourage curiosity, creativity, and independent thinking.
- Use storytelling, games, demonstrations, drawing, and hands-on activities to make learning enjoyable.
- Maintain a positive, safe, and well-organised classroom environment.
- Manage classroom behaviour with patience and a positive approach.
- Understand individual learning needs and provide appropriate guidance.




- Communicate effectively with parents and provide updates on children's progress.
- Follow the centre's teaching methods, lesson plans, and operational guidelines.

Required Qualifications and Experience

- Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in a preschool, kindergarten, nursery, or junior school.
- Good academic knowledge of foundational English, Mathematics, and early childhood learning.
- Strong understanding of phonics and early literacy instruction.
- Experience working with children aged approximately 3–10 years.
- A degree or relevant qualification in Education, Early Childhood Education, Montessori Education, or a related field is preferred.
- Good spoken English and clear communication skills.
- Basic computer skills for maintaining student records and related administrative tasks.
- Must reside in or around Kelambakkam, OMR, Chennai.

- Phonics proficiency: Ability to teach letter sounds, blending, segmenting, and early reading.

Ability to handle children positively and maintain discipline.
- Communication skills: Ability to explain concepts clearly and interact confidently with children and parents.
- Creativity: Ability to make lessons engaging through activities, games, and demonstrations.
- Artistic ability: Experience in drawing, painting, art and craft, or other creative activities is an advantage.
- Responsibility and punctuality: Reliable, organised, and committed to scheduled working hours.
- Willingness to learn: Open to training and following the centre's teaching approach.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Candidates with knowledge of phonics, robust foundational academic skills, and an interest in art and creative activities will be preferred.

Work Schedule

- Part-time position.
- Weekday and/or weekend sessions, depending on the centre's requirements.
- Working hours and salary will be discussed during the interview.
